Agression. Series "Homo"

A dense cluster of men's heads and bare shoulders fills the lower half of the canvas, packed shoulder to shoulder with strained, confrontational expressions; one figure opens his mouth as if shouting. Above them a strip of red-toned high-rise buildings sits under a vast, swirling sky.

Thick impasto is applied with a palette knife in coiling strokes of grey, white and blue for the clouds, echoing the tension of the crowd below. Ruddy, earthen flesh tones and sharp value contrasts heighten the sense of confrontation, giving the scene a charged, aggressive energy.
